In Court Again! – Dr. David Mackereth

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6 / King James Version (KJV)

Dr. David Mackereth became a Christian in 1982 whilst studying medicine at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Between 1990 and 1992 he trained for the Bible preaching ministry at the London Theological Seminary, founded by Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones. He worked in Accident and Emergency Medicine, but over the years was able to engage in Gospel preaching ministry. In 2018 he hit the national headlines as the Christian Doctor who refused to use transgender pronouns, whilst working for a government agency. This action got him fired, but he does not regret standing up for the truth. With God’s help, he continues to take a firm stand on this, and other issues.

Ukraine War, Collapse, Reset – Peter Hammond

Ukraine War, Collapse, Reset – Peter Hammond

http://www.frontlinemissionsa.org

Frontline Fellowship seeks to glorify God through:

  • Evangelising in War Zones
  • Assisting Persecuted Churches
  • Working for Reformation and Revival in Africa
  • Serving God in: Angola, Mozambique, Malawi, Nigeria, South Africa, Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Congo.

Evangelising in the War Zones
Frontline Fellowship is a Bible-based African Mission that has pioneered missionary work into neglected mission fields and areas resistant to the Gospel. Since 1982, Frontline missionaries have travelled hundreds of thousands of kilometres by foot, by motorbikes, by dugout canoes, trucks and aircraft to boldly proclaim the Gospel of repentance and faith in Christ to soldiers, guerrillas, resistance fighters and civilians on all sides of many conflicts in Africa.

The Founder and Director of Frontline Fellowship, Dr. Peter Hammond, has personally carried out over 140 missions in the war zones and presented over 18,000 sermons, Bible studies and lectures in 38 countries. In the course of their missionary activities some Frontline missionaries have been ambushed, come under artillery bombardment and mortar fire, been stabbed, shot at, beaten by mobs, arrested and imprisoned. The Frontline mission base and high school in Sudan repeatedly came under aerial bombardment by the government of Sudan Air Force (10 times in 18 months). Over the years, 20 people involved in Frontline Fellowship outreaches have been imprisoned in Marxist or Muslim countries. Yet, by the grace of God, every one was freed in response to persistent prayer and pressure (Luke 18:1 – 5).

Assisting Persecuted Churches
Frontline Fellowship has been in the forefront of:
Pioneering missionary work into war-ravaged Angola, Mozambique and Sudan; Researching and opening up neglected areas and restricted access areas;

Assisting persecuted Christians and prisoners with books, emergency relief aid (including tons of medicines, foods, clothes, seed, bicycles and tools), encouragement and Bible teaching;
Developing a network of couriers and evangelists to distribute many tons of Bibles, in over 100 languages, to suffering Christians;
Providing in-depth leadership training for thousands of pastors, evangelists, chaplains, teachers, nurses and civil leaders in neglected areas;
Speaking up for the persecuted, publishing the sufferings and testimonies of believers in print, on radio, T.V. and in hundreds of international meetings every year.

Working for Reformation and Revival
Frontline Fellowship is a leading force in leadership training and networking for Reformation.

Frontline Fellowship publishes over 100 items a year and has distributed millions of Gospel leaflets, booklets, books and Bibles throughout Africa.

Frontline Fellowship has distributed millions of Gospel leaflets, booklets, books and Bibles throughout Africa. Frontline Fellowship conducts an average of 30 seminars, conferences or workshops each year. Through literature and leadership training, Frontline Fellowship is educating and enlisting tens of thousands of Christians to “disciple the nations…teaching obedience.” Just in Sudan, since 1995, Frontline Fellowship trained thousands of pastors, chaplains, medics and teachers. We provided thousands of Christian textbooks to over 350 schools in Sudan. FF has delivered and distributed over 950,000 Bibles and Christian books in 24 languages throughout 14 regions of Sudan.

In Zimbabwe, Frontline is distributing food, medicines and Scriptures into some of the most desperately needy areas and providing leadership, training thousands of pastors, chaplains, medics and teachers.

Will You Also Go Away? Reverend Kenneth Stewart Sermon

Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. “Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” John 6:67-6900.

J. Gresham Machen (1881-1937) was the principal figure in the founding of the OPC if for no other reason than that the Presbyterian controversy in which he played a crucial role provided the backdrop for the denomination begun in 1936. A distinguished New Testament scholar at Princeton Seminary from 1906 to 1929, Machen defended the historical reliability of the Bible in such works as The Origin of Paul’s Religion (1921) and The Virgin Birth of Christ (1930). He emerged as the chief spokesman for Presbyterian conservatives by issuing a devastating critique of Protestant modernism in the popular books Christianity and Liberalism (1923) and What is Faith? (1925). When the northern Presbyterian church (PCUSA) rejected his arguments during the mid-1920s and decided to reorganize Princeton Seminary to create a moderate school, Machen took the lead in founding Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia (1929) where he taught New Testament until his death. His continued opposition during the 1930s to liberalism in his denomination’s foreign missions agencies led to the creation of a new organization, The Independent Board for Presbyterian Foreign Missions (1933). The trial, conviction and suspension from the ministry of Independent Board members, including Machen, in 1935 and 1936 provided the rationale for the formation in 1936 of the OPC. Only six months after the new denomination’s beginning, Machen died in Bismarck, North Dakota while trying to rally support for the OPC. He was arguably the most important conservative Protestant thinker of the first half of the twentieth century and the guiding light for the first generation of Orthodox Presbyterians.

A Praying Pulpit Begets a Praying Pew – E. M. Bounds #shorts

Edward M. Bounds – (1835-1913), American Methodist minister and author.

Edward McKendree Bounds was trained and apprenticed as an attorney, but instead of pursuing a legal career, he entered the ministry in his early twenties. In 1859 he was ordained as pastor of the the Monticello Methodist Church in Missouri.

Bounds was a chaplain in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He was captured by the Union Army in Franklin, Tennessee and later released. After his release, he strove to build up the spiritual state of Franklin by starting weekly prayer sessions.

Bounds was an associate editor of the official Methodist newspaper, The Christian Advocate, and is best known for his numerous books on the subject of prayer.

“Edward McKendree Bounds did not merely pray well that he might write well about prayer. He prayed because the needs of the world were upon him. He prayed, for long years, upon subjects which the easy-going Christian rarely gives a thought, and for objects which men of less thought and faith are always ready to call impossible. From his solitary prayer-vigils, year by year, there arose teaching equaled by few men in modern Christian history. He wrote transcendently about prayer, because he was himself, transcendent in its practice.

“As breathing is a physical reality to us so prayer was a reality for Bounds. He took the command, ‘Pray without ceasing’ almost as literally as animate nature takes the law of the reflex nervous system, which controls our breathing.” -Claude Chilton, Jr., in the Foreword to Necessity of Prayer.

Assurance of Salvation: Its Nature – A. W. Pink / Studies in the Scriptures #shorts

LINK TO FULL VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZJs6oAw6TM&list=PL4EBDD9D41BCC41A3&index=10&t=2s

“Can true believers be infallibly assured that they are in the estate of grace and that they shall persevere therein unto salvation? Answer: Such as truly believe in Christ, and endeavor to walk in all good conscience before Him (1John 2:3), may, without extraordinary revelation, by faith grounded upon the truth of God’s promises, and by the Spirit enabling them to discern in themselves those graces to which the promises of life are made (1John 3:14, 18-19, 21, 24; Heb 5:11-12, etc.), and bearing witness with their spirits that they are the children of God (Rom 8:16), be infallibly assured that they are in the estate of grace and shall persevere therein unto salvation (1Jo 5:13; 2Ti 1:12).”

“The divine promises make known the good pleasure of God’s will unto His people, to
bestow upon them the riches of His grace. They are the outward testifications of His heart,
who from all eternity loved them and foreappointed all things for them and concerning
them. In the person and work of His Son, God has made an all-sufficient provision for their
complete salvation, both for time and eternity.”

Arthur Walkington Pink (1886-1952) evangelist and Biblical scholar

Pink was born in Nottingham, England on April 1, 1886 and became a Christian in his early 20’s. Though born to Christian parents, prior to conversion he migrated into a Theosophical society (an occult gnostic group popular in England during that time), and quickly rose in prominence within their ranks. His conversion came from his father’s patient admonitions from Scripture. It was the verse, Proverbs 14:12, ‘there is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death,’ which particularly struck his heart and compelled him to renounce Theosophy and follow Jesus.

Desiring to grow in knowledge of the Bible, Pink immigrated to the United States to study at Moody Bible Institute. In 1916 he married Vera E. Russell, who was from Kentucky. However, he left after just two months for Colorado, then California, then Britain. From 1925 to 1928 he served in Australia, including as pastor of two congregations from 1926 to 1928, when he returned to England, and to the United States the following year. He eventually pastored churches Colorado, California, Kentucky and South Carolina.

In 1922 he started a monthly magazine entitled Studies in Scriptures which circulated among English-speaking Christians worldwide, though only to a relatively small circulation list of around 1,000.

In 1934 Pink returned to England, and within a few years turned his Christian service to writing books and pamphlets. Pink died in Stornoway, Scotland on July 15, 1952. The cause of death was anemia.

After Pink’s death, his works were republished by the Banner of Truth Trust and reached a much wider audience as a result. Biographer Iain Murray observes of Pink, “the widespread circulation of his writings after his death made him one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century.” His writing sparked a revival of expository preaching and focused readers’ hearts on biblical living.

The Power of Indwelling Corruption – Wilhelmus à Brakel #shorts

“Indwelling corruption is the most powerful of all causes of backsliding. In regeneration God grants His people spiritual life by uniting them to Christ. This life is predisposed toward growth—and indeed it does grow. You would be able to observe this if you would compare your current condition with your condition when you were first changed. “

The Power of Indwelling Corruption: The Christian’s Reasonable Service – Wilhelmus à Brakel

(1) The complaints of the saints: “O Lord, why hast Thou made us to err from Thy ways, and hardened our heart from Thy fear?” (Isa 63:17); “But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am!” (Rom 7:23-24).
(2) Such texts in which believers confess the power of indwelling corruption: “Iniquities prevail against me” (Ps 65:3).
(3) Such texts in which saints pray to be kept from this. “Keep back Thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me” (Ps 19:13).
(4) Related warnings. “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption” (Eph 4:30); “But exhort one another daily, while it is called To-day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin” (Heb 3:13).

The Nadere Reformatie

Translated into English as Dutch Second Reformation or Dutch Further Reformation, refers to an era in church history during the Dutch Republic from ca. 1600-1750. The representatives of the period endeavored to work out the principles of the Protestant Reformation in family life, church, and society balancing and valuing both orthodoxy and piety. As such the Nadere Reformatie resembles other expressions of the Post-reformation Reformed era including English Puritanism and German Pietism.

Wilhelmus à Brakel (1635-1711) was a major representative of the Nadere Reformatie, and a contemporary of Gisbertus Voetius and Herman Witsius. À Brakel’s pastorate in Rotterdam from 1683-1711 was marked by the monumental publication of a four-volume work entitled the Redelijke Godsdienst (The Christian’s Reasonable Service) which was a systematic theology written for the members of the congregation. The work is permeated with practical and experiential application of expounded doctrines, thereby establishing the vital relationship between objective truth and the subjective experience of that truth.

The Inseparable Connection Between Diligence and Assurance – J .C. Ryle #shorts

John Ryle had his beginnings at Oxford, where he was an athlete and first class student of the Greats. He was headed for a career in politics, but then was called to the ministry. This work is a study of holiness, or Christian perfection. Ryle works to debunk many of the popular beliefs of his day concerning holiness. Reviewers praise his balance of honest, tough-love messages and compassionate, pastoral care. An intense but readable book, Holiness has been inspiration for living a Christian life for over a century. Believers looking for instructions on how to improve their lifestyle and continue the process of sanctification will value this book, which discusses grace, God’s love, and, of course, holiness.

(This volume is considered the best book on
the Christian life that has EVER been written.)

“From his conversion [in 1837] to his burial [in 1900], J.C. Ryle was entirely one-dimensional. He was a one-book man; he was steeped in Scripture; he bled the Bible. As only Ryle could say, ‘It is still the first book which fits the child’s mind when he begins to learn religion, and the last to which the old man clings as he leaves the world.’

“This is WHY his works have lasted—and will last—they bear the stamp of eternity. Today, more than a hundred years after his passing, Ryle’s works stand at the crossroads between the historic faith and modern evangelicalism. Like signposts, they direct us to the ‘old paths.’ And, like signposts, they are meant to be read.”

“He [J.C. Ryle] was great through the abounding grace of God. He was great in stature; great in mental power; great in spirituality; great as a preacher and expositor of God’s most holy Word; great in hospitality; great as a writer of Gospel tracts; great as a Bishop of the Reformed Evangelical Protestant Church in England, of which he was a noble defender; great as first Bishop of Liverpool. I am bold to say, that perhaps few men in the nineteenth century did as much for God, for truth, and for righteousness, among the English speaking race, and in the world, as our late Bishop.”

~ Rev. Richard Hobson, three days after Ryle’s burial in 1900.

Separation from the Ungodly World – Octavius Winslow #shorts

“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17

Octavius Winslow 1808-78

Mary and Thomas Winslow went on to live in England and Octavius was born in Pentonville, then a village near London, on August 1, 1808. He was the tenth of 13 children. His name seems to have been given because he was then the eighth surviving child. Octavius’s father was from a wealthy family but by 1815, following his retirement from the army, he suffered ill-health and the loss of his fortune due to one of several such national financial disasters that occurred in this period. A decision was made to move to America, but before Mr Winslow could join his wife and children in New York, he died. At the same time, their youngest child died too.
Widowed at 40, responsible for a large family and scarcely settled in America, Mrs Winslow’s entire life was turned upside down. Worst of all, spiritual darkness and despondency overwhelmed her for some months. Octavius was seven years old. They were a deeply religious family and Octavius later wrote a book about their experiences from his mother’s perspective in a book entitled Life in Jesus, available on google books. All of the children became Christians, and three sons became evangelical ministers.

It is suggested that Winslow began his ministerial training in Stepney, London, but then moved to Columbia College, New York. He was certainly ordained as a pastor June 21,1833 (aged 25) in New York. He is said to have ministered in the newly started Second Baptist Church there in Brooklyn, in 1836 and 1837, the work sadly closing in 1838. In 1839 he moved back to England where he became one of the most valued ministers of the time. This was largely due to the earnestness of his preaching and the excellence of his prolific writings.

He was married to a Miss Ann Ring and they had four boys and four girls. His son, John Whitmore, died in 1856 aged only 21 and Octavius went on to publish some of the things he had written as a teenager.
